It seems like many New Yorkers have startups on their mind. The past couple of weeks I have been going to meetup events. Most of the events are about either technology or starting a company. I meet more and more entreperners who are starting companies and wanting to bring their ideas to market. New York is going to be the next STARTUP PLACE TO BE!
A lot of the recent discussion on the nextny boards talk about startups in NYC; pros/cons and why it hasnt become the startup of the east coast. Some of the discussions is about how Boston has ycombiator, but New York has the money. New York needs to create this “startup frenzy” and make a You Tube Company in NYC. I want to change this, yes I WANT New York to be the place for startups.
If you are interested in a startup in New York or have a startup in NYC, please post link below and a bit about it.

you’re way off. Waltham, MA is the next S.Valley. I hope the next silicon valley is someplace warm like Sunnyvale or Tucson. If it is NYC then I guess I’ll telecommute ;P
Well, if it’s not NYC, then its Scottsdale, AZ.
So you may get your warm weather.
[...] East Coast Blogging is an attempt to connect the blogosphere of east coast bloggers and create a mesh-up between us. I was recently linked from East Coast Blogging which discussed the idea that Boston would be the next Silicon Valley. I recently posted how New York City was going to be the next Silicon Valley even though I think to myself, go West young man go west. [...]
[...] The reasons for this I think are many, one major being the amount of technology and graduates form MIT who stay in the area to carrying on and further enrich the local tech culture. This is not to say that there are not great things happening in other areas along the east coast. New York is having it’s share of a tech boom as well with the likes of Spiral Frog (although I am not sure they have made it) and the upcoming Blog Talk Radio headed by Alan Levy and Amy Domestico. John Murch had an interesting post on the viability of New York as the next Silicon Valley, but I just don’t think they have the same vibe going for them as the Boston area. [...]
[...] When you think of a startup you think Silicon Valley, but theres many other locations and other factors that are the key to any startup. I recently posted on how New York is becoming the next Silicon Valley. New York offers many opportunities and combines the wealth of Wall Street with the boom of technology. This post also received some feedback from east coast blogging discuss how Boston is becoming the next Silicon Valley. [...]
