Ruby on Rails, so close and yet so far

Well, This morning I thought I would have a productive day trying to accomplish a simple task. I was trying to build a simple social network, since it seems to be a hot topic. Once I get it working, I will post it up on my blog… I might even do a screencast!

But for right now all I have is a simple Act_as_Authenticated working, with a friendship plugin. I was having some other issues with the flash[:notice] not working. Ugh!

I’ll keep you posted, but now its time to do some “paid” work.

I see my partners in crime are python addicts. I did do some looking at python vs Ruby and got to say that Turbogears looks awesome, but Ruby is just so clean. In my mind it comes down to impliced versus expliced, and well Ruby is just so dam nice.

I will pickup python, but not until I get a couple of RoR projects out the door.

Let me know how everything else is going ns and antics.

  4. [...] Well its official, I have formed a Company and plan to start taking over the world making money. I have filed all the paper work and even have a Nomad Thinking Website. I am planning on using this company for web development/design/etc. The other goal of this company is to start building and producing some of my ideas and having people actually use them. Over the next couple of weeks I will be launching a couple of sites and would like feedback on each of them. Most of these sites are coded in PHP/MySQL, but as you know from my previous posts that I am switching to Ruby on Rails. So if you have an idea and want to make it a web site or are looking for some web help please contact me [...]
