As a recent college graduate and entrepreneur at heart I feel that I need to take a bit more risk in life.
Yesterday John Chow (Great blog by the way!) posted a review of Matt’s website, Take More Risk.com, part of the ReviewMe 50% off promo. Matt is a 23 year old web designer (like me) who is making $5,000 a year right now from the net. Matt established his master plan of trying to make $60 a day by July 1, 2007 and $80,000 a year by September 2008. It’s interesting because I am the same age, similar skill set (web developer), and starting my own self funded company, Nomad Thinking.
If you need some inspiration to for your own startup check out Startupping. They have an interesting post on the best and worst decisions. There are a lot of great stories and information for people who want to make money online. There was also a great article on the 25 Top Web 2.0 companies.
If you are still reading this and want to get your feet wet with risk you can! Y Combinator has announced its call for Summer Applications. If you have never heard of Y combinator, please check out Tech Crunch’s Write up. I am looking for a team and plan to apply with a couple of ideas. Who’s with me?

Wahey!
I hadn’t heard of the Startupping site and it looks like something I sorely needed!
Thanks for the buzz,
Matt
Hey Matt,
Glad I could help, but I want to thank you. I have been thinking about your master plan and need to build one of my own. I too am a web developer who wants to make it big. I will be adding some ads to this blog and hopefully launching a couple more sites with some ads to “pay the bills”. Who knows maybe I will become a professional Blogger!
Thanks for the inspiration and please anyone who is reading this, check out take more risk!
[...] Since I have been looking to take more risk, I also wanted to point out that the risk should be an educated risk. Paul over at Everday Success Tips posted some great write ups to help you take control of your busy life. End Procrastination, one of my habits!!! This post discussed Mark Foster and his book Get Everything Done and Still Have Time To Play. Now I am a HUGE fan of David Allen and his book Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity. Paul also has some interesting write ups on attitude and setting goals. [...]
Good luck with your startup, dude, let me know if you need help.
[...] I posted about John Chow’s Blog back on my Take More Risk post and referenced John Chow’s Review Me of Take More Risk dot com. He has some great ideas and topics on how to drive traffic to your blog along with what to blog about. Some of the topics that I enjoyed reading was how to setup a preferred domain and how it can help with page ranking on Google. [...]
