Project Release Date

So I have decided to release at least 1 project on April 22nd. I will be posting links and hopefully driving some traffic to the site. I am keeping it a bit hush hush for now, trying to create a “buzz” on my blog (Ha!). Does anyone know why April 22nd is a special day?

This project will be more of an on going work and project for myself, but I hope to drive a lot of Google traffic there. I am also taking a week off from work (more of a time to code my own projects) around April 27th and will be building a small FINISHED project.

Many of my projects are ALWAYS on going and never reach a release date, but I will be chaning that. I hope to release it and at least get some people (Friends, Family, Blog readers,etc) using it so I can continue to build it up. I am going to start taking the Google concept of release early and often rather then build something for a long period of time to only release it and have only a few people use it. This would also mean that I want to put my projects out on the web and have the world use them. There are a lot of projects that I have in my head and my laptop that I have not released. I will NOW be focusing on only one project and WILL release it after my time off. This project will be done using Ruby on Rails and I place to pickup a slicehost account to host it. Slicehost is a hosting company that uses xen and designed for Rails developers, but currenlty has a 35 day wait. I am signing up for an account this weekend and hope to have it by mid May. (Yes I know more delays in my release, but stay tuned!)

Thinking of projects and ideas makes me also wonder what my readers are doing. I have recenlty hit a traffic spike and starting to average about 30 to 50 pageviews a day on this blog. I was originally going to try and blog at least once a day, but I have been working on some other projects. I have also found out that a couple of my blog entries have very high google traffice. This traffic is targeted towards a specific market, which my project that will be relased on the 22nd will be about. (Can you guess?)
Monday, I will also post up a link to ONE of the projects my consulting time has been going towards as well as a blog that I have been posting a new “Link of the Day” that various from links about technology news to web development. So come back Monday and Join a project that I have been working on for the past 3 months.
