The Iron Chef of Woks

Posted on: August 28th, 2007 2 Comments

Okay, as you know I have recently moved to Arizona and had to pickup some kitchen supplies. Since I try to be a Iron Chef in my free time, I decided to go big on my pots and pans spending about $200 and save some money on silverware and plates. Well while shopping at ikea I spotted a $8 wok. YES you read that correctly a $8 USD wok! Now being a paranoid skeptic of cheap quality products, I decided to drop the $8 and take my chances. With recent toys from China containing lead I was a bit worried, but hey our parents survived, so why can’t I.

Anyway, I just used this wok to make some amazing chicken with a friend of mine, so good! As for clean up, I just rinsed and EVERYTHING CAME OFF! Imagine that, a wok that is almost self cleaning! So if you are a chef or trying to learn how to cook, pickup the $8 wok and some chicken and bam, good food.

If you need some good recipes for cooking check out opensource food. yongfook build it and well, since edibletags is still a work in progress, I might as well promote another site.

Drop a comment on how the cooking and wok(ing?) is going.

I’m still a bit skeptical but applaud you for getting the $8 wok. Perhaps you should assume the moniker of the Frugal Gourmet instead. EdibleTags should come online soon…haven’t I waited long enough!
