2008 Goal Page

With 2008 ringing in around the world I figured it was time to start posting up my goal page as well as work on my Open Source Goals Meme to the world.

Since it’s the year of the rat I wanted to make more of an emphasis on the fact that I want to get out of the rat race. What is the rat race? Go check out Robert T. Kiyosaki’s book, Rich Dad Poor Dad (soon to be featured on Geek Guru Book Club). My goal since November has been to challenge myself to make $100 day in passive income. With February approaching it’s time for me to make some drastic changes. I feel that I have been spending to much time reading and learning rather then DOING. I have also found that when I do write 4 or 5 blog posts at a time and stay within that 1 blog post per day, when it comes time for me to create the next batch, I forget/get lazy and thus, my blog suffers.

Since today is New Years Eve I thought why not post up my short term, 1, 3, 6 and 12 months goals as well as post up my opensource Goals meme tomorrow on New Years Day. So with out any more further blogging, here are my short term plans/goals for 2008.

$100/day in Passive Income (Goal hopefully reached by Feb 29, 2008)
Launch 3 automated (user submitted blogging systems) as well as a action plan for each (Jan 10, 2008)
Relaunch Hippy Green, Focus on User Content as well as on how to go more green (Feb 1, 2008)
Launch an RoR knowledge website with various links from around the blogosphere and up to date examples/tutorials. I also plan to look at posting up some management tips and being agile in the work place. (March 1, 2008)
Sell a digital product (e-book, T-shirt, whatever) (April 1, 2008)
Launch an e-zine (electronic magazine) (May 1, 2008)
~~Road Trip through America (August 1, 2008)~~ Drive from Scottsdale, Arizona to New Jersey at the end of February 2008 and did the whole drive in 4 days by myself. It was a lot of driving and some good tunes!
Have 2 sites with 20k visits per day ( Sept 1, 2008)
Buy Real Estate Near NYC (Nov 1, 2008)
Travel to China (Dec 1, 2008)

Okay, so those are some big goals, but you need to think big to get ahead in life. So (cross fingers) I will hit those goals for 2008 and make it a better year then 2007. This past year I have accomplished so much and yet I feel that I was only going at 60% speed most of the year. Last year at this time I had already helped relaunch 3 major blogs for Ziff Davis and was working on their social network Ziff Davis IT Link. Last year I assisted in launching 23 blogs as well as their social network before leaving to go do some work with Mophie. Since my departure with Mophie, I moved to Arizona and worked with JumpBox for a bit, who just made Download Squad (Get your orders in now!). Since then I have started to refocus on my own stuff and have really started to get my feet wet. I have also launched a couple of Ruby on Rails website (www.socialequine.com and did all the backend work of inside bergen) and have learned a LOT in the past year about myself, business, and where/what I want in life. So expect tomorrow my (more long term) Goals to be posted up as part of my Open Source Goals Meme.
