I was recently tapped by Sean Tierney to build my own Lists of Goals. I have been meaning to post this up, but have so many goals and ideas that I didn’t want to limit myself. Although one thing I have learned about Goal Setting is you need them to remind you and help you achieve them. This “Open Source Goals Meme” is an experiment on exposing my own goals to the public so others can follow up and help me focus on accomplishing them. Rather then play telephone and repeat some of the instructions, I encourage you to take a look at sean’s blog and post your own.
With yesterdays Goals of 2008 I wanted to post more long-term and redefined short-term goals are part of this Open Source Meme. So with out further blogging, here are my BIG goals in life (in some semblance of order)!
- Post 1 blog post a day
- Own a Home
- Build up a website with over 1 million page views a month
- Be a Speaker at a large conference
- Compete in a Drift Competition
- Own a Tesla
- Snowboard 100 days in 1 year
- Make the cover of Wired
- Spend 6 months in Japan
- Meet Richard Branson
- Speak a Second Language
- Visit 100 countries
- Spend 12 months living outside of the United States
- Start a Venture Capital Firm
- Write a Book, and get it published
- Start a non-profit
- Donate a building to the University of Vermont
- Have a technology named after me
- Own an Island
- Start a automobile company
Okay, so that list is just a start, I will update/add to this list soon, but wanted to get some of these ideas/goals out of my head and on to my blog.
This process of writing down your goals gets you that much closer to achieving them, (and for me, it helps remind me what I am trying to do in life). Here are some great links on goal setting and creating a Dreamboard or a vision board (due date for mine is Jan 10th) and help for Goal Setting. Also since today is New Years, many people start to think about starting their own business, so maybe you need some Goal Setting for Businesses.
