For those of you who are managing multiple twitter accounts, it can be a pain to constantly signin/signout of twitter. There are a crap load of twitter widgets, apps, etc. out there to help with this. So to offer some help, I wanted to post how I manage 2 twitter accounts which are @jmurch and @seodrop (please follow me).

I was recently asked by The Brian Shaler to write about how I use the same dashboard app to post to multiple accounts at the same time.

I have been using Twidget for a couple of months now, thanks @rcchampion. Twidget has allowed me to quickly hit F12 and view my following as well as post a quick tweet. Since I have been managing the online marketing of SEO Drop I need a way to post to 2 accounts fast and easy. With Twidget I can easily do this. Just hit F12, goto your Dashboard Window, add another Twidget and start posting. Twidget can handle multiple sessions so you can have as many twitter accounts as Twidget on your dashboard.

How’s your holiday shopping going, done hopefully. If not, then you are one of those waiting until the last minute or even the night before christmas (or hanukkah) to buy your holiday gifts this year. So since you are still looking, your in luck. I have put together a quick list of the top 5 best bargain websites for shopping this holiday season.

I know for myself I have finished my shopping and just waiting for Christmas to arrive. So rather keep you on your edge of your seat, take a look at my picks for the best deals sites on the web.

Here are my top 5 best bargin sites to visit for this holiday season.

Gottadeal

Slickdeals.net

Deal News

Deal Dump

Dealigg

These sites have great deals on digital cameras, HDTVs, and all those other gadgets for the tech geek.

Gottadeal - I have used this site at
least since 2005. I just love how simple and easy it is to use. Great for finding a deal on a product or gift idea you had in mind.

Slickdeals.net - Great listing of daily deals and coupons.

Deal News - It’s really great to see a deal website that uses reputable stores. I just remember when I was looking for my Canon GL2 that although I found some deals, they would require calling in and “talking” before you purchased the item. They also scared you off saying the device is only in Japanese, and/or there is no warranty or insurance on shipping so if the device is broken by FedEx, oh well. If anyone has ever seen Don’t Mess with the Zohan you know EXACTLY what I am talking about.

Deal Dump - It’s a great deal aggregator for those of you who like mashups.

Dealigg - Social Bargin Shopping, enough said? I wish the design was a bit better, but the deals are great and focused around the big name websites.

Also be sure to checkout some of the coupon deals on each site, such as Gottadeal’s Coupons

Do you have a awesome bargain website you visit, post in comments and tell us all.

Do you work as a Freelancer? Own a computer consulting company? Do you remember spending last March/April organizing your invoices for Tax time? I am guessing you have a few clients, maybe 10+ and have all this overhead associated with collecting payment, submitting invoices, and keeping the cashflow coming in. I know this past year, invoicing is almost all of my overhead, I have had a lot of small clients for projects. Keeping track of billing and managing all of this overhead is a pain, and I hate pain, I like to automate tasks that are “painful”. I have been playing around with various free/cheap solutions that make this pain go away (And always looking for new ones!) and wanted to post up some of the great web apps that I have used/use now.

Although I originally planned to create my own apps, I am a BIG supporter of leveraging someone else’s work and standing on the shoulder of others. Thinking about it, do you want 2 projects: 1 to create something that could make the task simpler and, and another to actually do what was requested, NO! So on that note, check out some websites/webapps that can make your life easier!

Since Invoice sucks!

Invoice Journal
Fast Simple and easy to use. This site is great for international invoices, because they include the various taxes and currency amount. The site offers a variety of invoice templates and integrates with paypal.

Fresh Books
This service is awesome for the people who may have a bit more then those 10 clients. I would HIGHLY recommend them if you are also looking for a custom solution, but don’t want to start from scratch. They have an awesome API.

Blink Sale
Okay last invoice website, but pretty slick. I love the user interface and user experience with this website. This site is web 2.0 savvy site is just a great way to send those basic invoices in a simple fast and friendly solution.

Tracking Time

toggl
Work on a lot of smaller tasks where you need to keep track before invoicing them. This software works pretty nicely on keeping track of all of those 10+ minute features that add up quick.

Faxing, bringing the 80’s back!

eFax
Yes, Faxes are that 80’s technology that we are still stuck using in today’s world. We can scan in an image and email it, but most of the business world have these legacy devices call fax machines. So rather then invest in a machine that is going to sit there and collect dust (as well as get fax spam!) and possibly another phone line, just sign up for efax. You can send and receive faxes by email, yes you can bring yourself into the 21st century while maintaining your 80’s retro look of faxing.

Notes

Jott
We all have little notes that we write down on paper napkins, index cards, and post its. Rather then have a pocket full of small paper that you can’t read, why not email yourself the idea/concept by placing a call. Jott offers an amazing service that I have been using for some time now that I just love. I have an idea, I would normally find some paper and a pen and write it down and/or try and remember it in some fashion, but with Jott I just place a phone call, listen to the “Who do you want to Jott”, say myself wait for beep and start explaining it. What a great service, and its FREE!

Selling Digital Products

Pay Loadz
Sell that ebook you created, take the pain of charging and money away for a small percentage.
E-Junkie
They offer a simple and free shopping car for those who are selling 1 or 3 products such as (setup/install WordPress). They also have a great pro option for only $5/month!

Meetings

Free Conference
Conference calls are a must in the biz. You have to talk to 3 or 10 people at a time to make a decision, well simplify it! This service is great and I have used it a number of times for small meetings when each person is in a different remote location. I HIGHLY suggest using them for your business and even upgrading the account for some great features like recording. Yes, you can record the conference call so you can go back and make sure they said “these requirements” and don’t try and sneak in features.

Twiddla
Whiteboard collaboration software for FREE! This software is great, no downloads, just amazing on collaboration and creativity. When you are working with a small team in remote areas, this software is a must to communicate various design changes and layout ideas. You can surf the web and draw directly on the website, brilliant!

Newsletters

Breeze
Email campaigns, simple easy and affordable. Flat rate system of $10 + 2cents per recipient. So for emailing 2,500 people is only $60.

Aweber
Simple email newsletters, website signups, follow up auto responders and scalable. If you want to automate your business and take the teachings of the 4 Hour Work Week, sign up for as low as $19/month!

Send Big Files

YouSendIt
Transferring 2GB+ files that would normally require a FTP server and all that technical stuff that you DON’T have time for, then check out you send it. I know gmail limits attachments to 20MB, which is pretty high and great for the PSDs, but when you are transferring that MPEG video of last weekends presentation to possible investors in your startup, you may want something a bit more reliable.

I have my own computer consulting company, Nomad Thinking and tend to use some of the applications listed above. If you have others please post them in the comments.

I have been doing some research into User Experience as well as User Interface for building easy to use websites. Building a site that functions for the basic users as well as advance users is important. You want something that caters to the herd, but also the web developer user type who complains when you add a new link. User Experience and User Interface is very important to me and I plan on posting up some more of these types of articles in the upcoming weeks. I think everyone is a closet designer in some sort (including me!) and finding websites that “just kill it” are a great for inspiration. Remember, Picasso once said, Good artists copy, great artists steal. I complied the top 10 websites which I find have amazing User Experience. (in no particular order)

Digg

I have been an advivd fan since October of 2005. Their designs and implemmtation has been in my mind one of the first dare I say web 2.0 sites. Their main designer, Daniel burka has done an incredible job. I got a chance to meet Daniel at SXSW and got a little estar strucked. He has put down some killer designs as well as layer out an amazing UX (User Expeirnce) not only from digg but also from silver orange, and of course pownce. The usage of javascript on digg is what makes it truley great! As well as the amount of clicks or lack thier of. Even the digg bury comment system is being ripped off!

del.icio.us

Ok so maybe I’m an addict, but its so simple to create an account, add bookmarks, and even tag sites for your friends. Some sites should stick to the basics and that is what del.icio.us is! The user experimce could be improved with a nicer user interface, but that may ruined the experince of bare metal social bookmarking.

Popurls

For this of you who have not checked out this site, go now, its simple, clean, and takes away my active feeds on google reader. Think of morning news, a quick glance at work or on your iPhone in the morning (they have a nice iPhone interface). Basically the user interface is just some RSS feeds on 1 page, but they do have some other in-depth features if you create an account. Although what is so unique and great is that the mouseovers on articles give more meat and detail, but still let me view the titles and quickly view the content. The layout of video screnshots and flickr images is just amazing. More recently I have started to customize this landing page an show more articles. The user experience is just amazing and simple. It’s very had to stay clean and simple, but popurls does and amazing job.

Animoto

I had the prevelge of sitting next to one of the cofounders on my way back to NYC from SXSW. I checked out the site and dam! You put in email, select a bunch of images and in a couple of minutes they email a link with you meet music video. I am very impressive with thier upload system for showing the status as well as which file their uploading in near to real time. The user experince simplifies the problem of uploading a lot of images one by one, massive props to the developer who had to deal with all that javaacript, as well as the video remix code to match the images and music, a great product and experience.

37 signals

Need I say more? For the company that prides themselves on keeping it simple and barebones, they offer a simple user experiene and focus on keeping out features and focusing on what users really need and use the product for.

Apple

The company that always puts design infront of features. (short rant: Although seriously can you guys make an update within the same year you launch a product, WTF, no delete mail from (insert date here) like my crackberry, sorry!) The experince researching and buying a product from your online store is almost compaired to the experince of going to thier Apple stores, simply remarkable (Yes, I know I am a bit of a mac fanboy). You just kill the ease of buying a product online and offer a great design to showcase the products. From their website to their software and even their powercords on macbook’s (gotta love the magsafe!)

Muxtape

This project started out as a User Interface experiment and now offers a great user expeirnce. The site is simple, create an account, upload your favorite 12 songs, done! You can find new music searching and finding other muxtape users and listening to their favorite 12 songs. Simple concept, simple solution, just amazing! They have received a LOT of PR the past month and even recently presented at NY Tech Meetup, which I attended. Hearing Justin Ouellette, the creator, speak about adding your own amazon codes to muxtape so you can make a small cut if people choose to buy your songs/muxtape leagally online is pretty interesting. This website is changing the way we think and can possible allow both finding new music and actually paying for it, very interesting go check it out.

bla.st

Bla.st is a free advertisting newtwork and web directory. The site is actually for sale, funny enough, but the user expeirnce when coming here is very uquine. The human mind can only hand 7 uquinie items at a time, so web designers/developers focus on navigations that limit to 7 top choices. When presenting over 50+ we various blogs/websites on a page that people can mentally handle is hard. Some how this site offers not only a simple image referencing each site, but also add a little bit of Ajax to do some mouseover tooltips that give some information and an enlarged image, is just a great user experience. Another site that is similar in style, but for design inspiration is cssremix. CSSRemix seems to be having some server issues, but be sure to google it and check out the cache page. Bla.st is also unqiue in offering a variety of viewing options so for those geeks who want to view 100+ directories on their 30in Apple display they can, as well as the older generation who do NOT want to grab their glasses, they can switch to large images.

Twitter

Twitter offers an amazing User Experience. If you are into mircroblogging, keeping track of what your friends are doing, and/or just want to join the converstation, check it out! Twitter is something that I have been trying to use much more (follow @jmurch) since SXSW. I have recently “upgraded” my iPhone to jailbreak and starting to check my twitter even more. I am using Twinkle which combines Twitter with geolocation, so now you can see where I am at while I am twitter. This is very intersting if you have lots of friends in a small area, like college? Think about the fact that you could be at a lame bar, and your friend tweets something and you notice their a couple of blocks away where its happening, you can just go over there. Okay, maybe this is a bit more of an extreme case, but I know for SXSW twitter worked great! (while it was up!)

Google

The King? Seriously the fact that they count how many characters are on thier home page is deserving of a write up. They do many focus groups and are able to keep the look, feel, and brand the same across so many microsites. Ftom the beginning of search without those crazy flashing ads to keeping it simple while showing images, maps, and web links to help find that answer to what you are seachong
You made reading Rss, email so enjoyable and even offer quickkeys for us mouse haters. Google calendar is an experimce online that everyone needs. When calendars were all the rage and 30boxes was the shit google dropped the bomb and build a simple, elegant, and so east my mom uses it, the fact that I can share calendars, make public, and now show off my callendar so others can make plans, genus. I rember coding my own caledwr and wanting to create these features but college woe was keeping me busy.

And now I officially have a wicked design, a contact page, and ready (hoping) for stories to start flying in. All you have to do is email your rant/rave to submit@mobiwoes.com and it will be posted. I know you MUST have a horrible stories with cellphones, their service, random users who are deaf talking so loud that you can hear them a mile away, yea those types of stories.

I should have launched this site Friday, but the past couple of days I have been picking up some side projects.

Right now I am doing some magic work labeling each email as their are being sent in, but will be automating this process if I start to see more then 10 an hour. So please give it a try, send an email to submit@mobiwoes.com and it will be posted. If you enjoy reading them, please also check out our RSS feed.

Did get that big TV for the Super Bowl this year? Thinking about it, need to go HDTV? Well thanks to our Tax dollars, the government is giving away money. Yes, you could be eligible for up to $80 towards buying a HDTV. I find it funny that the government is pushing these “tv convert boxes” that don’t exist. You see, back in Feb 1, 2006 the FCC was gonna stop broadcasting NTSC, which means that if you had a TV with an antenna, it would stop working. You would need to go out and either purchase this fictional box, upgrade to a HDTV, or rely on a cable/dish option. This is much like the switch with black and white to color. Since then, the FCC has pushed it to February 17, 2009. I will be blogging about this more as the deadline approaches, but basically its a scheme for the FCC to “make even more money” by forcing all the “over the air” channels to switch to HDTV, making everyone and their grandma “buy” a new HDTV and then sell that spectrum to wireless carriers, to give us faster “more crippled” internet. (Yea, I could rant about this all day.) So if you haven’t take a look at getting your HDTV rebate and go out and pickup a nice big HDTV for the Game.

The Super Bowl this year will be in Phoenix and it has created a lot of buzz/building in the area. It should be a fun weekend, might drive out and do some tail gating myself. Lots of parties!

If you have been following adii the wp rockstar and all of his blog design/ideas you may have heard of the wordpress magazine. In the blogging world where everyone is subscribing to 600+ rss feeds you may be looking for a site that brings all the content from the masses to 1 site, like techmeme or tailrank. You can spend years googling through wordpress and all the bloggers out there, but having 1 site or dare I say magazine that references what’s going on on the wordpress world would be great. You can read up on new themes/designs, plugins, tips/trickets, etc. I see blogging as a great way to get the word out there, but print is still very much important because everyone still goes to the bathroom, waiting in line for TSA, and enjoys holding that paper material while reading.

Now being a Green Thinker I would suggest going with a ereader but ALL OF THEM SUCK, BIG #@%$!

So getting back to the idea of a online or electronic magazine, do you think their is a niche market for these. A blog form that has and posts daily stories, but also creates a weekly PDF you can download/print, or even prints out a monthly version you can buy online. I know for myself I am still attracted to reading articles in magazines and physically holding the paper while I read. I can only tolerate so much pain a day while staring at a screen 17+ hours a day. Since going to college and now having a computer almost always in front of me, my vision has been taking dramatic leaps towards going blind. (For those in the eye profession, I started at a -1.75, Im at about a -5.25, in about 4 years, yet its bad)

So thinking about all this content out there and even looking at building a user submitted magazine, ($%&@ the social network part) but a site focused on content as well as provided content that you can print and bring with you. Does this interests people? Do you enjoy having instant interaction with the write and/or submitting your blog posts and getting published in a emagazine?

I know in the past many emagazines have failed, pretty badly, but I think they are trying to use technology that is NOT already adapted by millions of users. Looking at a wordpress magazine adii was discussion, he would use wordpress to syndicate the stories, and just write the content. So maybe the idea of a emagazine is just a web 1.0 style and a user submitted online/print syndication is more of dare I say web 2.75?

So I have a couple of user submitted sites that I will be launching later this week, as promised, but just keep thinking about this news aggregator site that encourages you to print their stories and offer a printed magazine version too. Obviously I would focus on a IT topic, like ruby on rails, news, or something that interests me.

Okay, so a few of you think I am obsessed with this idea of passive income, well maybe your right. I feel that at this point in my life if I can hit this mark and get out of the rate race now, then in the next few years I can really focus on building a big business.

Anyway, to continue my posts of some cool links that I have found and wanting to “spread” the word of other sites that deal with money, so here they are.

On Money Making - By far one of the best blogs I have read for personal development, business development, and inspiration about making money. Be sure to check out his article on Forrest Gump’s Guide to Becoming a Gazillionaire. If you like some of the posts also check out the simple dollar.

Okay, so if you think you know all or something, maybe you should create a blog (if you don’t already have one). Everyone has some knowledge, well you can harness it in a form of a blog and make money from various ads (Adsense, Text Links Ads, your own). So for the bloggers out there, check out Daily Blog Tips a great resource and if your not a blogger, start one.

Start Upping a great resource for anyone who is looking to make money online.

Click bank the retail leader of digital products. Trying to bust out and sell some ebooks or just get users to signup for a product, check them out. I posted about the idea of a easy startup selling ebooks in the past and plan (building) an entire site dedicated to it. Check out some tips on getting your blog to work.

Need help figuring out where your money is going? Check out wesabe, their software is pretty slick and very useful. I also know they ask for some “personal info” to help with pulling the data, but if you are super parinode, just pull the data yourself from your online banking and upload it, so this way their is not direct connection. Also check out mint.

The last link is more of a post, it was a little while back, but wanted to share it with everyone. Learn everything you needed to know about finance on the back of 5 business cards.
